When testing and trials come our way, they're tough experiences and we often wonder what's going on. Pastor Ron leads us through a time of testing in Abraham's life that helps give insight into what God's doing when He tests us and how we can endure and benefit from it.

Pastor Clinton picks up his sermon series on Galatians from a few months back. In the apostle Paul's letter to the churches in a region known back then as Galatia, he's been going after false teaching and false teachers that made keeping Moses' Law a salvation issue. In this part of his letter, Paul first pleads with believers, then warns them about that teaching and those teachers, giving us insight into what believers today are to do when they encounter false teaching and false teachers.

Last week we dove into what walking in the Spirit looks like in our families. Today, Pastor David takes a look at the apostle Paul's teaching on how believing slaves and masters were to walk in the Spirit in his day, and how that applies to employees and bosses who are believers in our day.

Keep seeking and setting your minds on things above, putting to death what's sinful in you, putting on spiritual character, letting Christ's peace rule, letting His word live in you richly, and being thankful in all circumstances.  All of that comes before and sets the foundation for what Paul teaches next in his letter - how to have the best family ever! Pastor David shares Paul's instructions on how wives, husbands, kids, and dads all work together to create this!

After writing about how believers are to "put to death" sinful things and to "put on" spiritual things, the apostle Paul turns his focus onto two things believers need to let happen and one all-encompassing "whatever" instruction when it come to what they say and do. Pastor David explores these, drawing out their importance and application in our lives.

I would like to retract a statement I made while preaching this message. I stated that Jesus suffered because of sinful desires that came from his flesh, and he had to put those to death just as we do. This was an error on my part. While Jesus was born 'in the likeness of sinful flesh' (Romans 8:3), had the same limitations and weaknesses in the body as we do resulting from sin entering the world through Adam, and was able to be tempted, he did not have a sin nature as we do. Love, agape love, love that, at its core, is passionate about sacrificing itself to benefit others, is what demonstrates to the world that we're Jesus disciples. But what does agape love look like in our lives, what does it do? Pastor David delves deeper into what it means to put on love above all the other qualities listed in Colossians 3, revealing what true and authentic agape loves does.

We've been exploring Colossians chapter 3 where it talks about how believers are to put on certain spiritual qualities. Today, Pastor David teaches on the most important quality, the quality that is to go on over top of all those other qualities and that wraps them all up together in perfect harmony - love.

All too often believers are guilty of telling themselves lies. But that's not all - we believe those lies, and live our lives as if they were true. Jon Hay explains that whenever we do that, fellowship with God takes a hit and, if we constantly do that, fellowship with God becomes grey, dreary, flat and empty. Jon exposes the most frequent lies believers tell themselves and holds them up to the truth of God's Word so that we can live by the truth and enter into a fresh, vibrant, rich, and deep fellowship with God we were meant to experience!
