After healing a man on a Sabbath, the religious leaders in Jesus’ day started to persecute Him because, in their opinion, healing on the Sabbath day was work, and it was illegal to work on a Sabbath. When they confronted him about doing that, Jesus stunned them – He made the claim that He was equal with God!
